You consider it inappropriate to say "HAPPY World Refugee Day"? Then why do so many of you support policies that create refugee situations in other countries? Doesn't that make you "happy"?
According to the UN, there are 65 million refugees in the world today. Of those, over half of them come from three countries: Afghanistan, Syria, and Somalia.
Considering the U.S. is heavily involved in two of them, are we ready to get our military out of them? Haven't we killed enough in Afghanistan and Syria already? Haven't we made enough people refugees already?
By the way, the fact that the "peaceful religion" of Islam is the predominant religion in these countries isn't lost on me. While the U.S. carries plenty of blame for creating these refugee situations, Islam is not blameless. Just look at Somalia, which has had little intervention from the U.S., but is almost 100% Muslim. The same is true of Afghanistan, although Syria is "only" 87% Muslim.
Coincidence? I think not.
Peaceful religion my arse.
