Democrats and their Wikileaks problem: Today's news for October 12th (part 2)

I needed an entire second post to cover the fallout from the Wikileaks explosion.

Fox News:
A top spokeswoman for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign mocked Catholics and evangelical Christians in a 2011 email exchange exposed by Wikileaks this week.

In the exchange reported Tuesday night on Fox News Channel's "The Kelly File", Jennifer Palmieri, now the Clinton campaign's director of communications, says that politically conservative Catholics "think [Roman Catholicism] is the most socially acceptable politically conservative religion. Their rich friends wouldn't understand if they became evangelicals."

Palmieri was responding to a message from John Halpin, a fellow at the liberal think tank Center for American Progress. Halpin remarked on a magazine article that discussed 21st Century Fox CEO Rupert Murdoch's decision to raise his children in the Catholic faith.
"Ken Auletta's latest piece on Murdoch in the New Yorker starts off with the aside that both Murdoch and Robert Thompson, managing editor of the [Wall Street Journal], are raising their kids Catholic," Halpin wrote. "Friggin' Murdoch baptized his kids in Jordan where John the Baptist baptized Jesus."
If you read the whole story, this is actually nothing. Palmieri isn't saying there is anything wrong with Catholics or Catholicism. She is making a derogatory comment about one Catholic, Rupert Murdoch, with an implication against Robert Thompson. She isn't saying all Catholics behave this way. It is about how wealthy people use religion as a status symbol.

If anything, it appears to be an interesting observation about wealthy conservatives.

That said, the next couple of stories show how the Media has conspired with the Clinton campaign to show her in the best light:

The Daily Caller:

I won't be quoting the articles here. Feel free to read them at the links above.

This is proof of conspiracy by the Media to work with Hillary Clinton's campaign. Mind you, the campaign has done nothing wrong or illegal here. Frankly, they should be applauded for taking advantage of this.

No, the real problem here is the credibility of the Media. The New York Times, the Boston Globe, and CNN now have zero credibility. How can you cover a news story when you are in bed with it?

Too often, the Media justifies their puff coverage of people with the statement, "We can't get interviews if we cover them objectively". This started in the sports Media, and has sadly moved into other areas of news coverage, especially politics. The Media needs to quit whoring themselves and resume being journalists.

However, there is still one big problem for the Clinton campaign:

The Hill:
An official within Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign appeared to have discussions with sources inside the Department of Justice (DOJ) about ongoing open records lawsuits regarding the former secretary of State’s emails, according to an email released on Tuesday.

In an email from May 2015, Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon said that “DOJ folks” had “inform[ed]” him about an upcoming status conference in one of the lawsuits regarding Clinton’s private email setup.

The information about an upcoming court event would have been public knowledge and open for all to attend. And it’s unclear whether the people Fallon spoke to at the Justice Department were officials who regularly communicate with the public.

However, the fact that Fallon — a former spokesman with the Justice Department — remained in contact with anyone from the department is likely to renew allegations that the Obama administration maintained an especially cozy relationship with Clinton’s presidential campaign.
While there is no damning evidence here, there is plenty of smoke, especially when you consider the facts surrounding this case, and how the FBI intentionally treated the case as not prosecutable.

Overall, this is just further proof of how democrats receive no oversight from the MSM, and even less from the federal government when they are in power.

If you are a political binary who believes they have to vote for a D or an R, keep this in mind. If Trump gets elected, at least the MSM will do their job of making him accountable, and there are even Republicans who won't fully support him. But with Clinton, she will get a free ride in Washington, and we have no idea of what she might be criminally capable. If you have to vote for crazy or evil, vote for crazy. The Joker is far less dangerous than Lex Luthor.
