Hermine strikes! Today's news for September 2, 2016

AccuWeather:
Hermine made landfall in Florida early Friday morning and will continue to deliver heavy rain, gusty winds, flooding and the risk of tornadoes into Friday night.

The storm became a Category 1 hurricane shortly before 3 p.m. EDT Thursday and made landfall around 1:30 a.m. EDT Friday east of St. Marks, Florida, along the Florida Panhandle. While losing its water source over land, Hermine weakened back to a tropical storm at 5 a.m. EDT Friday morning.

The last hurricane to make landfall in Florida prior to Hermine was Wilma in 2005.
Aside from the fact I am smack dab in the path of this tropical storm (goodbye, cruel world!), I mention this because of that inconvenient truth buried in the headline.

Sorry, Global Warmers, but once again your theory (and it is THEORY, not FACT) has shown to be severely flawed. How did we go 11 years without a Florida hurricane if Global Warming was actually happening? It takes warm water in the Gulf Stream to create hurricanes. And I remember 2005, when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, and all you climate fanatics screamed, "See?! GLOBAL WARMING!"

Don't get me wrong. I believe in climate change, but it happens when the universe decides it, not when you do. Deal with the fact that you aren't as all-mighty as you think. This planet can still shrug you off like a bad habit, any time it likes.

Rant off.

Metro:
...when Marco Gutierrez, the founder of ‘Latinos for Trump’ (yes, this is a real organisation), proclaimed that if Hillary Clinton wins there will be ‘taco trucks on every corner’, pretty much the entire world rejoiced at the prospect.
‘My culture is a very dominant culture and it’s imposing and it’s causing problems,’ he told MSNBC’s Joy Reid. ‘If you don’t do something about it, you’re going to have taco trucks on every corner.’
Count me in! When do the taco trucks start rolling?
