Who would have thought both Fox and CNN lead off with Donald Trump today?
Fox News:
House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., took a shot at Republican nominee Donald Trump Thursday, saying the billionaire “had a pretty strange run since the convention” and that he finds it “distressing” that he is not focusing on Hillary Clinton. You could say that. Trump has had a strange run since the convention...during the convention...before the convention...
“He’s had a pretty strange run since the convention,” Ryan said on WTAQ radio in Green Bay. “You would think that we want to be focusing on Hillary Clinton, on all of her deficiencies. She is such a weak candidate that one would think that we would be on offense against Hillary Clinton, and it is distressing that that’s not what we’re talking about these days.”
CNN Money:
Donald Trump's campaign to make America great again may not be so great for his businesses.Donald isn't really the sharpest silver spoon in the drawer.
There has been a clear decline in foot traffic to Trump-branded golf courses, hotels and casinos in the U.S. since Trump entered the presidential race last June, according to data released Thursday from Foursquare...
The data, based on the activity of Foursquare's 50 million monthly users, shows a growing falloff in visits starting in March as Trump emerged as the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination.
Foot traffic to Trump-branded properties was down 17% in March and April from the same period a year earlier. In July, foot traffic was down 14% year-over-year.
By comparison, Foursquare's data found that traffic to those properties was "steady year-over-year" before Trump announced his candidacy.
A key factor in the decline, according to the report, is that Trump's properties are overwhelmingly located in blue states where consumers are more likely to take issue with the candidate's policies and campaign rhetoric.
Now we return to your regularly scheduled news...
Associated Press:
After a slow start, it appears increasingly likely that the Obama administration will hit its goal of admitting 10,000 Syrian refugees into the United States before the end of September.
State Department figures show that 2,340 Syrian refugees arrived last month in the United States.
That's more than what occurred during the entire seven months after President Barack Obama directed his team to prepare for 10,000 admissions from the war-torn country. Total admissions for the current budget year, which ends Sept. 30, now come to about 7,900, and the vast majority of them are Sunni Muslims, records show.Because bringing in lots of Middle Eastern refugees has worked so well for Europe. And Obama thinks Trump isn't ready for the White House? After eight years, Obama STILL isn't ready!
