Trump and Clinton both find new ways to commit political suicide, whenever their old ways aren't tripping them...
Los Angeles Times:
Once again, Hillary Clinton’s carefully laid campaign plans have been disrupted by old emails.Naturally, Clinton isn't the only one who keeps shooting herself in the foot...
On a day in which Clinton was hoping to inflict considerable damage on Donald Trump — this time, by ripping into his economic agenda — her campaign was on the defensive, scurrying to clean up the latest damaging revelations in years-old messages that were sent by Clinton and her staff and released as the result of a lawsuit.
The ongoing email dispute undermined the potency of a speech for which Clinton’s campaign had been laying groundwork all week, one in which she presented her economic agenda in full and tried to brand her self-styled populist rival a fraud.
Clinton, speaking in Michigan, did manage to deliver a combative, policy-laden address that effectively rebutted the economic plan that Trump presented in the battleground state days before. Both are reaching out to the so-called Reagan Democrats who will decide the race’s outcome in the Rust Belt.
CNN:
Donald Trump said Thursday that he meant exactly what he said when he called President Barack Obama the "founder of ISIS" and objected when a conservative radio show host tried to clarify the GOP nominee's position.Does Trump even know what he is saying?
Trump was asked by host Hugh Hewitt about the comments Trump made Wednesday night in Florida, and Hewitt said he understood Trump to mean "that he (Obama) created the vacuum, he lost the peace."
Trump objected.
"No, I meant he's the founder of ISIS," Trump said. "I do. He was the most valuable player. I give him the most valuable player award. I give her, too, by the way, Hillary Clinton."
Hewitt pushed back again, saying that Obama is "not sympathetic" to ISIS and "hates" and is "trying to kill them."
"I don't care," Trump said, according to a show transcript. "He was the founder. His, the way he got out of Iraq was that that was the founding of ISIS, okay?"
Clinton's response:
Hillary, the same could be said of criminals like yourself, but moving right along...Anyone willing to sink so low, so often should never be allowed to serve as our Commander-in-Chief.— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) August 11, 2016
In all honesty, neither of them is fit for the presidency. This election is a sad joke.

Fox News:
(hat tip to Gospel Herald Entertainment for the pic)
John Rhys-Davies, best known for his role as Gimli in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, is perhaps just as well known for his outspoken views.Have you noticed how the Left operates in an echo chamber, where the Media only parrots their views? When Al Gore said the science was already decided, he wasn't just talking about Global Warming. As far as the Left is concerned, there is no room for argument on any topic.
The actor came under fire in 2015 for an interview he gave in which he slammed political correctness, saying "we have lost our moral compass completely.”
Davies told FOX411 his views have cost him friends in Hollywood.
"I know there are certain people in Hollywood who would not work with me because I have said things that are not PC," the 72-year-old actor told us. "I have lost friends and that saddens me."
Davies said he feels it is the responsibility of actors to explore others' beliefs and to constantly question. Instead, he said many of his actor friends believe their opinion is the only right one.
"I love my fellow actors but sometimes I think that [their] opinions are wrong. True art asks uncomfortable questions and if you find yourself agreeing with everyone around you all the time, you should wonder what your significance as a citizen and as an artist is."
He added, "But that's not really important. What matters is that a civilization is kept alive and vital by debate."
Don't get me wrong: There are individuals on the Left who are willing to have a good discussion over their views. Sadly, they tend to be from the Baby Boom generation or older. But even the Baby Boomers are a mixed bag (i.e. Al Gore).
In addition, many people on all sides of the political spectrum hold firmly held beliefs. Mind you, beliefs are different than "strong opinions". A belief is something you know to be true, and nobody can ever change your views on it. For example, the sun will rise in the morning. There is no arguing with that. Unfortunately, many people on the Left have elevated their strong opinions to the level of belief. Because of this, there is no arguing with many of them, as they will just parrot their talking points like gospel.
As John Rhys Davies has discovered, when you say something that goes against their world view, you get the Spanish Inquisition treatment.
Unfortunately, the Left's debating skills are so atrophied, they are about as likely to convince any reasonable person as the "comfy chair" would be. Fortunately for them, they have our educational system working for them, forever dumbing down the next generation.
