Hitler/Columbine/Ludlow/Trump Day

I won't say "Happy birthday, Hitler", although today is his birthday. It is also the anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre (1999). In fact, Columbine wasn't the only bad thing on this day in Colorado: In 1914, 66 men, women, and children were killed when the state sent the militia to break up a worker's strike in Ludlow, Colorado.

Basically, history sucks today.

Back to Hitler. He is credited with saying, "Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it." You might think all American politicians graduated from Hitler University.

There is a description of Hitler from the old OSS (Office of Strategic Services) which incorporates that saying:

His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.
Is it just me, or does that sound like a perfect description of Donald Trump? Of course, I would NEVER compare Trump to Hitler...

How did that get into my post? I am truly sorry, and I sincerely apologize to any Trump supporters out there.

As for the rest of you, wink wink nudge nudge.
