Mad as Hell

At what point do we admit that we are mad as hell and not going to take it any more?

The Donald Trump phenomena is just one example of this going on today. For decades now, Republicans have been genuflecting every time someone on the Left yells racist at them. While there have been cases where it is deserved, the Left has learned to cry the racism wolf even for non-offenses, which has left the Republicans on their knees more than on their feet. Finally, we reach the point where Trump arises saying a lot of commonsense things with a racist flavor to them, so the Left cries wolf, and the Republicans laugh as Trump flips them the bird. For once, a Republican, for right or wrong, is standing up to the Left.

The Republican supporters are mad as hell and not going to take it any more.

The Democrats a skeleton in their closet: Islam. While I appreciate defending people of all faiths, at what point do the PC police call out Islam on it's institutional homophobia and sexism? Sharia Law claims homosexual acts are crimes (punishable by death in Iran and Saudi Arabia), while women are treated as second class citizens all over Sharia Law (How about a rapist being able to marry his victim in order to avoid a rape charge? Or how about a woman's testimony being worth half of a man's testimony in court?). I want to hear the Democrats defend why they attack the KKK and overlook Islam. I also want to hear Islam defend it's positions against gays and women.

Very soon, we may see women and gays becoming mad as hell at both the Democrats and Islam.

Both of these are examples where the Republicans and Democrats have been ameliorating their bases with "don't worry, we'll fix this" promises, as neither side has done anything but genuflected to special interests.

At least one candidate, Donald Trump, has stood up and said, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this any more!" But just like Howard Beale in the movie Network, Trump's "mad as hell" has more than one meaning in that sentence. And we have yet to see who will be "mad as hell" for the Democrats, now that Bernie Sanders is almost gone.
