Willful Ignorance

One thing I always found interesting about Bill and Hillary Clinton is how little they know when it comes to their scandals, yet how smart they are about everything else. Call it "ignorance of convenience"?

I was reading this CNN article, "FBI interviews Clinton aides including Huma Abedin as part of email probe", and specifically the first paragraph (bold part added by me):

Some of Hillary Clinton's closest aides...have provided interviews to federal investigators, as the FBI probe into the security of her private email server nears completion, U.S. officials briefed on the investigation tell CNN. The investigation is still ongoing, but so far investigators haven't found evidence to prove that Clinton willfully violated the law the U.S. officials say.
Last time I checked, "ignorance of the law is no excuse"? Based on the evidence leaked so far, here are the facts:

1. Hillary setup and maintained a private email server in her home.
2. The email server was NOT secured in accordance with government guidelines, making it in violation of the law.
3. She used the server to send and receive classified information.
She didn't just wake up one day and say, "Oh look! There's an email server in my house! I should just send a few emails from it and see what happens..." Next thing you know, she's setting up email distribution lists and forwarding "Top 10 Reasons Benghazi Didn't Happen".

Get real.

While I recognize the FBI has historically dragged their heels with investigations, making sure that every single "T" is crossed and "i" dotted, to delay this investigation to look for proof of intent is ridiculous. At most, the intent was laziness, or the simple entitlement mentality from which the Clintons suffer ("We deserve this because we are the Clintons, after all."). If they are going to this trouble because they have reason to believe the Clintons were actively spying for another country, that is absurd. It isn't like we have evidence they took money from the Russians, right?
